Cirencester Ramblers

Trouble on the Rails Walk - There was a drizzly dull start to this 4.5 mile easy walk, with a bit of mud to begin with.  But we were glad to find the weather improved during the walk.  Six Ramblers started off from the Trouble House going up a gentle incline to Ashley.  Heading into the wind for most of the way, along a road part of the Monarch’s Way we headed towards Tetbury.  The wind helped to clear up the misty, damp start so by the time we stopped for a quick break the sun had come out, making it a really enjoyable walk with vistas across the fields.  Coming down to the railway line we viewed Tetbury Church in the distance, snowdrops in the woods and  flooded fields by the track.  We stopped to find out about the Green Line defences of Bristol in the second world war before taking the track back to the Trouble House.  We all piled into the pub for welcome refreshments, where we were joined by two other members.
