Twenty one walkers including 2 former members and 3 visitors set out from the Gateway centre and immediately had to take a diversion due to flooding on the towpath. The first stretch was rather muddy and slippery resulting in two walkers turning back. The route improved as the walk progressed but a slight shower at the refreshment stop turned into very heavy rain resulting in the walk being shortened.
