Cirencester Ramblers

On a sunny but cool morning 21 walkers including 2 guests left the The Greyhound pub for a pre lunch walk. Many of the walkers were in festive jumpers and hats. Walking up the towpath past the abandoned locks we reached the top of Siddington where we followed a footpath past the village school and eventually emerged onto Love Lane industrial estate.  From here, after walking down Wilkinson Rd and another footpath onto Siddington Rd, we followed the path round to the footbridge over the A419. This brought us round to a small leisure ground by a new housing estate. From here we followed a footpath towards Preston village. Stopping at the Clements footbridge for a refreshment break we then followed the path passing through the church yard onto the village street. We then followed the footpath to emerge onto the A419 again by Dobbies garden centre. From here another path took us down to the road to Siddington. We reached another footpath passing the Quaker burial ground and through the allotments to emerge back near the Greyhound. At the pub we met up with more Ramblers and guests for a very enjoyable Christmas lunch.
