On a damp but mild morning 15 walkers left the Greyhound carpark in Siddington for a leisurely 4 mile walk. Reaching a footpath in the village we reached a road from the village up to the South Cerney road. Prior to this we past the Quaker burial plot at the bottom of Roberts House grounds. After walking up the road we took a footpath which crossed a small country estate and came out by Dobbies Garden Centre. At this point 2 walkers decided to bale out and go to the coffee shop. We then crossed the road and proceeded across farmland to Preston, passing through the churchyard to pick up a footpath down to the new Clemence bridge. From here we walked down to the edge of a housing development in Cirencester and crossing the road on a footbridge we then walked along Siddington Road and up into Love Lane. From here another footpath brought us back into Siddington and after walking down the canal towpath we reached the Greyhound again where 35 Ramblers enjoyed a very nice Christmas lunch.
