17 walkers met at Birdlip village on a cold but dry February morning. The route took us on a descending path through Witcombe Wood which was also part of the Cotswold Way.
Following a refreshment stop we crossed the road at Cranham sawmill and on through Cranham Wood towards the village. A steep climb onto the lane above Cranham was followed by a mile of road walking to Climperwell Farm where we stopped for lunch.
Afternoon entertainment was provided by a group of off road motorcyclists on vintage bikes attempting to ascend a very wet and muddy woodland slope, but we moved on through Hazel Hanger Wood and the final mile or so to Birdlip.
