Fourteen walkers set off from the Gateway centre on a very mild December morning. Given the recent rain we have had the route was very dry. It was very pleasing to see that the usually extremely muddy section that crosses from the disused railway line to South Cerney has been covered with gravel making it much better under foot. There was a bit of a struggle clambering over a fallen tree but everyone managed without incident. Our lunch stop was at the playground in South Cerney where a walker who shall not be named spilt his rice pudding! A second fallen tree, pictured was much easier to pass. A few walkers took advantage of the cafe at the Gateway centre for some light refreshment.
