Cirencester Ramblers

From the car park at Adlestrop Village Hall, a group of 12 Ramblers plus one guest (a student from Indonesia) set off on a 6 mile walk towards Daylesford.

After a stretch of lane walking, the walk turned into some woods which in places were very wet, before emerging onto an expanse of paddocks owned by the Daylesford Estate. There was a meeting with some friendly horses before the walk continued through woodland and through the estate and farm buildings.

The walk carried on through beautiful countryside before emerging onto a busy road along a narrow path past the Daylesford Estate restaurant and shop. After a stretch of road walking, lunch was taken at Daylesford parish church.

After lunch, we continued across fields and tracks, crossing a railway line towards Lower Oddington. After walking through this attractive village, we joined the busy A436, re-crossing the railway line, before soon turning off to cross a field and cricket pitch and following a track back to Adlestrop.

The scenery along the walk was enjoyed by the group so much that the walk leader received requests to repeat the walk at another time of the year.
