With heavy rain earlier in the morning, the grey skies and forecast caused for serious thought of what to wear or rucksacks-packing spares ….. however a select few of us enjoyed a lovely 10 mile walk with only a few light showers.
From a quiet Bourton on the Water we walked to admire art in Lower Slaughter and watched the Waterwheel spin at the mill, we admired the Thomas Denny window in Upper Slaughter St Peter’s church. At Naunton we picnicked by the Dovecote and river Windrush before supporting the local public house. On our return route in quiet valleys and woods we saw Jacob sheep, Gloucestershire cattle, a heron, babbling river, old railway bridges, before returning to the lovely old stone bridges of Bourton.

Our reward in the pub
