We had a week of settled weather and the forecast being good a group of 16 walkers gathered at Sherborne for the walk last completed on a very wet New Year’s day. Today felt much more autumnal with some lovely colours in the landscape although overcast.
The route took us uphill from the village with views towards the church (photo 1) and on towards the hamlet of Broadmoor where we stopped for a refreshment break. From there it was downhill into the Windrush valley (photo 2) and heading in the direction of Bourton on the Water. Then uphill to a lunch stop at Clapton on the Hill church and a group photo (photo 3)
The return route took us downhill through woodland into the valley of the Sherborne Brook (photo 4) and then a short walk back to the cars – and the sun came out!
