A group of 14 Members enjoyed a 7 mile walk in the Yanworth area in glorious sunshine.
The walk started at the lay by at Hangman’s Stone, just off the A.40 west of Northleach. We walked across fields and along tracks, crossing the old A40 before heading across open countryside to Oxpens Farm. The views were extensive across open countryside.
After passing Oxpens Farm, we followed the edge of a number of fields before reaching a lane where we stopped for a short refreshment break to admire the view across to Yanworth.
We headed downhill to a valley bottom, and continued along a wide track to Yanworth Mill, from where we climbed steeply to Yanworth, where we had a lunch stop in the churchyard.
We then descended to another valley bottom, before another steep climb along a lane , followed by a route alongside woodland to the other side of Oxpens Farm. We then continued along the side of fields back to the starting point of the walk.
