On Saturday 31st August, 22 Cirencester Ramblers plus 2 visitors had a fun evening to help celebrate the clubs 50th Anniversary.. The event was held at The Drillmans Arms, Gloucester Road , Cirencester. The Pub is very welcoming to all and allowed us to have Fish & Chip meals, delivered at 8 p.m, which everyone enjoyed saying they were so good.
We started playing at 7.30 pm, a game of Killer, where everyone is listed on the board and given 3 lives. All nine skittles are stood up to begin the game, the first player bowls trying to knock as many down as possible, if they knock down say 7 skittles then the next player only has 2 to aim at, if any player misses on their turn they lose a life. When only 1 skittle was standing a lot of people lost a life and soon were out, but when someone knocked the 1 down a great cheer would be heard, as the next person then had all 9 to aim at. The last Man standing was Andrew Miller and his wife Pauline was last lady standing each receiving the £10 prize. There were consolation prizes for first man and lady out, Steven Meredith and Antoinette
We then decided to play another round. Again, it was a lot of fun especially when Andrew Cole's visitor "So" a Japanese student who had never seen the game before had 9 skittles to aim at and got all 9 down with the 1 ball, people cheered and clapped making him feel a very proud and a happy man . The winner of this game was Roger Righton.
A lot of cheering could be heard throughout the evening as it was a lot of fun and people thanked Marian for a great evening and would like to return some time in the future. Also, thanks to Cailen, who worked hard as sticker up and did a good job
