On Sunday 15th October 17 members plus Walter, Chris’ assistance dog, set off from Brimsfield village hall to do a 6.6 mile circular walk. Heading out of the village they walked through Brimsfield Park and continued through the wooded valley, before climbing up to the beautiful Grade 1 listed church of Saint Mary the Virgin in the village of Syde. The church was lit by gaslight until last year, but unfortunately the parts for the lamps are no longer available.
After a short coffee break here they headed down the valley again to return through New Seal wood to Brimsfield.
