Cirencester Ramblers

July 27th Bibury

Thursday 27th July 10 members enjoyed an easy 4 mile walk from The Catherine Wheel at Bibury. From the pub the group walked on footpaths and tracks out to Coneygar Cottages. On the way they paused for a brief refreshment stop where the paths cross the line of the Roman Road called Akeman Street. After this they took the track by the side of the cottages and then the path, which passes through Ash Copse and Oxhill Wood. The group made their way back to Bibury over the River Coln by the Mill. In Bibury they walked past the school and church before crossing the river again to walk past Arlington Row and back to The Catherine Wheel where they enjoyed lunch.
