Cirencester Ramblers

June 25th Bibury

On Sunday 25th June 24 members and 2 guests set off on a 4½ mile walk from Arlington as a prelude to our annual Strawberry Tea. From Arlington Pike the group set off along Hay Lane. After 1¼ miles they took the bridleway to pretty village of Winson. Here the group stopped at the church for a quick refreshment break and a chance to look at the wall paintings.

Leaving the village the walkers took the path and footbridges over the River Coln and onto a track called Potlicker's Lane. They followed the  lane to Ablington where they crossed the River Coln again then uphill on the lane towards Arlington Pike. At the top of the hill the group took the footpath on the left back to Arlington where lots of strawberries, cream and cake awaited them.
