Cirencester Ramblers

January 2nd 2017 Sevenhampton

After a New Years Day of rain, the weather changed completely for January 2nd, allowing an excellent walk with sun and blue skies, with winter scenery of frost on the ground. Our group for the six and a half mile walk was 20 members, which included 5 members from nearby groups.

The walk started at Sevenhampton by the church and immediately went uphill on a path, across fields to Whittington, where a coffee break was taken. Our route then continued southwards, crossing the A40, going through Andoversford and onwards until reaching The Gloucestershire Way.  Here we turned eastwards, going to Shipton Oliffe, where another stop was made. The return route was via Syreford and into the lower end of Sevenhampton, taking the path before the ford to return to the start.
