Cirencester Ramblers

Nov 6th Tetbury

In glorious sunshine 17 Ramblers set forth from the ancient parish of Tetbury, downhill on Cutwell St crossing the ford. Taking to the fields we continued along the Monarch's Way encountering the first of 39 stiles, heading for Westonbirt Arboretum with its stunning autumn colours, then passing the old plant centre and under the new tree top walk.

We proceeded through Westonbirt village to the golf course for our lunch stop, excellent coffee and bacon rolls. Refreshed we continued on to Shipton Moyne passing the Cat & Custard Pot Inn (without stopping!). We made our way across the fields through the gate into Estcourt Park, following a narrow road until the path swung right. Leaving the track we aimed for Tetbury church on the horizon, going downhill before crossing the bridge on our way back home, after walking ten miles in congenial company.
