Cirencester Ramblers

August 3rd Shipton Moyne (eve) walk

On Wednesday 3rd August 18 members and 1 visitor started their evening walk from the Cat and Custard Pot in Shipton Moyne. Heading east past Park Farm and through the Estcourt Estate the group picked up the path along the Tetbury Branch of the Avon, before turning back along the Fosse Way. At one point they had a beautiful view of a group of young horses silhouetted against the skyline galloping across a field, and a fox running full tilt across another. The last part of the walk passed close to Hodges Barn along the Palladian Way before arriving back at Shipton Moyne through the lovely church yard. Members then had a chance to wet-their-whistle and dry off after the showers at the end of the leisurely 3½ mile walk.

The sun and rain make a beautiful rainbow over the Estcourt Estate

We reach the River Avon (Tetbury Branch)

We pass an ancient tree on the walk
