Cirencester Ramblers

June 22nd Bibury Evening Walk

17 members enjoyed a 4 mile walk from Bibury. Setting off from the Catherine Wheel pub the group walked through the village and past the Arlington Row cottages, the school and church. On leaving the village they took the track past the mill and through Oxhill Wood. Then the path thorough Ash Copse and onto Coneygar Cottages. After a short stretch of road walking they took a track back to Bibury. Crossing the line of the Roman road Akeman Street for the second time the group paused to explore an ancient dewpond. Continuing on they descended past Shagborough Copse and fields of rape seed before arriving back at the Catherine Wheel for a drink.
