On the bright and sunny morning of Sunday 10th April 20 Ramblers, including 4 guests, met at Minchinhampton town centre for a walk in the South Cotswolds. The walk took us through the village of Box and up onto Minchinhampton Common where we had a coffee break while enjoying panoramic views over Forest Green, Inchworth and Nailsworth. Then dropping down from the common we cut through Amberley to take a woodland walk around the beautiful Woodchester Valley.
The steep climb up to Rodborough Common was followed by a break for lunch and ice cream and views towards Thrupp and Brimscombe over the Frome valley. Then down into the valley and steeply up again to cross Bownham and Besbury Commons before returning to Minchinhampton. The walk was moderately difficult but invigorating and the participants were rewarded with stunning views and beautiful but varied scenery.
