Cirencester Ramblers

On Saturday 23rd April 6 Footpath Maintenance volunteers drove to Kemble to begin clearance of the Wysis Way (The Wysis Way is a 55 mile walking route which forms a link between the Offa's Dyke and Thames Path. The Way runs between Kemble and Monmouth).

Walking from the village toward the start near Kemble Station the group found the first part relatively clear, but Waymarks were needed. As they progressed they cleared vegetation and removed overhanging trees. This route is popular with walkers as part of it is also the Thames Path and The Thames and Severn Way. After a coffee break on the canal path in the sun and fortified by Richard’s flapjacks the group continued to clear 3.5 miles of the path. It is anticipated that the group will clear a good part of the trail that lies in Gloucestershire.
